The Time Machine








How does one define a decent history teacher? What makes one a decent academic? Or even what qualifies as an appropriate history lesson?

Those can be some rather valid questions when it comes to an educational reform or even to a future student who wants to figure out which academic institution is the best for him. Unfortunately some people are not meant to be associated with it, not that they donnot possess the intelligence or work ethic -they might do- but for another important reason, when it comes to SCIENCE : They cannot be objective, they are blinded by their over religiousness or by nationalistic feelings . Sure both are rather idiotic blends or trends for that matter , both can be the main characteristics of people with bellow or average I.Q. who cannot fully grasp the logical sequence of events, history or even science. They belong in a rather big proportion of the population, but should they by all means be able to teach in an academic institution? The answer is simple, no. Of course this appears to have some minor exclusions for priests should be taught their occupation somewhere . If these individuals are allowed to teach in decent universities -especially in the historical departments- then the afforementioned institutions should by no means be included in the highest rankings of Princeton's Review , and to no one's surprise they don't.

Should a lesson be filled with comments about who is the rightful owner of a some specific acres of land ? Sure, if the lesson is taught in Arabic countries where propaganda is all they care about. History is about facts and specific actions, not about "those bloody barbarians who conquered our lands and raped our women, they shall burn in hell." or even "He tried to diminish God and God cut his life short" . I truly and deeply believe that if a decent historian from Oxford , St Andrews or any Ivy League university would probably laugh out loud at these quotations, would question whether or not that person is teaching history or converts people to a specific cause. An evaluation would prove them inadequate to even be a teacher's assistant for their lack of scientific methods and promoting only specific books which could be proven to be anachronistic , declining any other idea or opinion than the one that they already possess as a result an scholastic argument being out of the question. For what is worth the structure of a decent academic lecture is the exact opposite of what i aforementioned.

Ten things I hate about You





So here is your biggest challenge , admit a wrongdoing and confess it to the person whom you did wrong after a long while. You do find the courage and compose a rather rational and plain email admitting the moronic and immature behavior that characterized you during that period , something that has never been done to you -the one at fault admitting it and asking for forgiveness- and since the mail had a rather rational and as dr Brennan would say a valid chance of acceptance from its receiver. Instead you are left empty handed and without even a decline of what you offered, now you know that if the same thing occurred to you that you would examine it's content close enough and would have most probably given a second chance to its sender. In the worst of cases you would have given a month's or more time to see if that person is truly worth your time again.



Silence is all you receive , therefor making you re-evaluate your judgement about that person: "Was I wrong again?" is all you keep asking yourself and since no one other will give a definite answer, you lean towards yes. Yes, because that person does not possess the qualities that you look for in people, whether they are friends or lovers or anything in between. If so then why do you still clinge towards a small hope that you will make amends? Why do you believe that chemistry and compliance is something that cannot be undone when science proves otherwise? Why don't you tend to think that it was nothing but a lucid dream and you woke up from it during that dreadful second meeting when one of your "friends" decline to accompany you? Why do you see that face wherever you turn? So many whys and no answers
